This is a remote position.

Project MORE is seeking a talented individual to assist its marketing team with its email marketing programs, newsletters marketing automations, lead and list management, and membership program. An ideal candidate has a desire to make a difference in the community, is a clear communicator, and has experience organizing and editing content and constructing clear email communications and promotions.


Type: Internship
Term: 3 months with potential for conversion to long-term position (minimum 100 work hour commitment)
Anticipated Start Date: Late June 2021
Hours per Week: Approximately 10 hours
Workplace: Remote, with optional opportunities for safe in-person volunteer engagements

 

About Project MORE

Project MORE is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and creating inclusive experiences for the LGBTQ+ community and allies through thoughtful advocacy, engaging campaigns, cultural events, creative consulting, and supportive services.

Led by an entirely unpaid, diverse Board of Directors, Project MORE was created in 2013 to fill a gap in services for the entire LGBTQ+ community of Northern California. We strive to be more and do more in everything we do, and are known for breaking down barriers and thinking outside the box to find amazing solutions that make a difference and build community.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, execute, QA, and report on email programs and ad-hoc emails
  • Craft and adapt content for emails to followers
  • Assist with lifecycle / triggered automations to engage and retain existing subscriber base, including ad-hoc reporting, QA, maintenance and execution.
  • Engage in email optimization projects and using A/B testing and data analysis
  • Create reports and manage marketing integrations
  • Grow subscriber base and nurture leads by working with cross functional teams, create and modify forms, and adjust strategic tactics to ensure positive growth rate
  • Coordinate design, content, and web assets from their respective teams
  • Keep campaign and drip calendars up to date, and work with the brand team on calendar changes
  • Maintain good list hygiene
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices to identify new opportunities


Requirements

Required:

  • High school diploma
  • 6 months to 2 years experience with email marketing, marketing automations, and/or communication workflows. You must list the ESP/Marketing Platforms you have experience using on your resume
  • Comfort and experience writing and editing content for a brand or company
  • Understanding of email and landing page best practices and design
  • Familiarity with reporting tools and marketing KPIs, particularly for email and/or web channels
  • Can work effectively and efficiently-- independently and collaboratively
  • Manage multiple assignments simultaneously, while meeting tight deadlines
  • Have regular access to a desktop/laptop computer and a smartphone or tablet with access to data/broadband internet connection

Desired:

  • Proficient in Google G Suite Applications
  • Familiar with Project Management or Task Management software
  • Experience working with LGBTQ+ community and nonprofit organizations
  • Is currently enrolled or has graduated with a degree in marketing, advertising, business/organization administration or similar field in a university or higher education system

Project MORE internships offer direct exposure to the workings of a regional nonprofit organization, close supervision by the Project MORE leadership/staff, interaction with other community organizations, corporations, government officials, and opportunities to attend conferences, trainings, and special events relating to the LGBTQ community.
